Although eliminating all professional involvement, may be an option for an out of state insurance giants, we’ve had to find other ways to bend the cost curve, without sacrificing either the quality of the gear we use, or the services we provide. We’ve found that the savings we achieve in both administrative and professional time afforded by Unitron’s open platform, Flex line of instruments, their durability, cost/benefit ratio, along with, ease of service, cause them to be the tools we go to most often in our day to day practice.
With their Flex trial Demos, I have an inventory of instruments that can be loaded with whatever particular program load is needed to accomplish my patient’s hearing improvement objectives. I can match the entire range of lifestyle, and budget needs, by quickly moving between an “Essential” program load with all of the basic functions you’d expect in a high quality, entry level receiver in the canal hearing aid, all the way up to their Pro level, with three discreet price points along the way, each unlocking more, and more of their Era chip’s capabilities, all as dictated by the needs of the patient I am serving at the moment.
With the system’s onboard In Situ audiometry suite, I can very quickly, and accurately measure residual hearing. This system then uses these data points to very quickly move to a first fit algorithm, from which we are able to instantly begin to fine tune for our patient’s individual preferences and comfort.
No longer do we have to stock a wide variety of equipment at several different program, and price points. Unitron’s Flex trial system allows us to stock one system that we can use to evaluate and demonstrate the benefits of better hearing to over ninety-five percent of the folks who walk through our door in a matter of minutes.
Our patients are then able to experience the benefits of the equipment, at the price point and loaded with the programs that they deem most appropriate to their needs, and budget. They are then free to try the gear in their own home, office or social environment, prior to making a large financial commitment. When they are satisfied with the results, we either order a new instrument to be overnighted from Unitron, or pull and program one from stock.
Their Flex trial units not only allow me access to very inexpensive, high quality demonstration units that can be programmed, and reprogrammed from basic to best of class repeatedly, the equipment comes with a wide variety of optional accessories including their uDirect II dongle that allows for the pairing of the hearing aids with any Bluetooth equipped device, from cell phones to tablets and laptops. All of their Moxi line come equipped with t-coil and basic Bluetooth connectivity begins with their 6 channel program load and progresses through their Pro line.
By being able to quickly assess, then demonstrate the benefits of better hearing to more people, we achieve the most basic of our personal and business objectives, helping more people to hear better. The Unitron, open platform Flex trial system allows me to provide that better hearing experience in mere minutes, at whatever lifestyle, and budget my patients are looking for while bending the cost curve downward for both our patients, and ourselves, allowing us to remain relevant and competitive in these changing times.
Just another way we are patient centered, and results oriented.
