Nope. Bill not only earned his loss by serving, he’s still serving his community. Holding positions on the local school Board for his Church, the Eau Galle redevelopment commission, and Arts District, as well as the Ruth Henegar Center, plus delivering meals on wheels to shut in seniors several times a week, and being a member of his local Masonic, and Shrine Lodges. Bill is a very busy guy, and very much an asset and important member of our community.
So, when it was time to replace his old hearing aids, we felt honored that he chose us.
But, like most of us, Bill’s lifestyle doesn’t allow him to stay in anything like a quiet environment, so it was important that whatever equipment we used, it had to give Bill the signal and sound processing needed to allow him to function in the wide range of environments from that quiet office down at the bank, through a noisy board, or commission meeting, with lots of conversations going on in a crowd.
As he was already wearing RIC style instruments, so it was an easy choice for us, we fit Bill with new Rexton Stratas for their powerful twin core processors. With the ability to track, locate, range, classify, and process multiple sound sources, over up to thirty-six channels in real time, Bill hears better in those noisy environments than ever before.
With an onboard, ultra low drain digital radio transceiver built right in, these instruments not only talk to each other thousands of times a second, comparing information from their four microphones, they make incredibly smart decisions seamlessly, and automatically about how to help Bill to hear what, and who he needs, regardless of where he finds himself.
Yet Bill’s instrument’s capabilities aren’t limited to what their microphones can pick up. When coupled with one of Rexton’s Mini-Blu controllers, Bill can connect to any Bluetooth device he might have, such as a smartphone, or iPad. The Mini-Blu also couples with a variety of other devices that will allow for inputs from his TV, or a remote microphone to be delivered in remarkably high fidelity, corrected for his loss, directly through his hearing instruments.
That means hands free cell phone calls you can hear clearly, in both ears, and the potential for your own private shows, and concerts delivered in stereo directly through your hearing instruments.
