The Hearing Affect
For people dealing with moderate to extreme hearing loss, professional life can be challenging. At A Advanced Hearing Care, they can solve that problem with proper equipment.
Warren Flynn, an event producer and resident of the space coast, could no longer hold conversations on the phone with his customers. “My hearing loss makes it almost impossible to communicate with clients... a lot of my work is done on the telephone and it was almost to the point where I couldn't hear the phone, making it impossible to do my job,” says Mr. Flynn.
And that’s when he decided to do something about it. Warren met Mr. Dan Taylor, of A Advanced Hearing Care on an airplane while traveling a couple months earlier. The two sat next to each other, sharing stories for a couple of hours. Mr. Taylor has had his practice, located in downtown Melbourne, for over twenty years. "Like Mr. Flynn, a lot of people put their hearing health off for way too long, and that effects all aspects of their life," says Mr. Taylor. "It's usually easy enough to fix, with the right equipment, so torturing yourself and missing out on life isn't worth it."
People procrastinate for several reasons including cost of hearing aid, the stigma that comes along with it or the inconvenience of having a hearing aid. These days, the equipment has changed. "I love the dongle and the bluetooth pairing. It is awesome that I can answer my phone without taking it out of my pocket. I also love the volume control and the different software settings," says Warren.
When asked about the difference between his hearing then and now that he has his hearing equipment, Mr Flynn states "The difference is amazing. I can hear again. I no longer say "what" all the time and the biggest difference I've noticed is when people (mostly women) whisper to me, I can hear them."
Mr. Taylor himself has been hearing impaired for over 30 years and understands the entire experience and the evolution hearing equipment has gone through."quote from Dan"
